Auburn Hills Michigan

Thirty-three miles from Detroit, lies the suburb of Auburn Hills Michigan. The town is growing in popularity as a residential district and a center for business. Many blue chip companies are based here, attracted by the proximity of five airports and two expressways. The headquarters for DaimlerChrysler, Volkswagen of America and BorgWarner are all here. There is a technology park that contains companies at the cutting edge of technological research and development.

Education facilities are important to the town too and Oakland University and the business college, Baker College and other colleges have excellent reputations. It's not all work for the people of Auburn Hills Michigan however. The town has excellent shopping and leisure activities. The Great Lakes Crossing is one of the biggest shopping malls in the United States and includes branches of GameWorks, Bass Pro Shops and Rainforest Café. There is a large food court and a movie theatre with 25 screens.

Eight parks provide residents with plenty green space and the opportunity to play golf, skateboard or relax with a family picnic. There are several annual events, involving live music and dance, including the yearly music festival. The town is the natural venue, given its association with the automotive industry, for the Walter P.Chrysler Museum. The museum displays vehicles from various time periods, including Chrysler, Plymouth, Jeep, Dodge and Hudson models.

The Palace of Auburn Hills is a large arena, used for sporting occasions and for concerts. It s the home venue for the NBA Detroit Pistons and the WNBA Detroit Shock and is the largest venue for basketball in the country. Other events hosted here are boxing and wrestling matches, ice shows and rodeo meetings. The Oakland University Art Gallery is open to the public and exhibits work by international artists and artists from the Auburn Hills Michigan area. In addition to the exhibitions, the gallery organizes special events, tours and lectures.

The town has a number of hotels, including major chains that are popular with the business community. Global Hyatt, Marriott, Holiday Inn and Radisson all have branches here. Dining is diverse and Auburn Hills Michigan has many fine restaurants to cater for the cosmopolitan population. There is Italian, Mexican, Greek, Irish and Asian cuisine. Steakhouses and seafood restaurants are also popular and there is even a Mongolian barbecue!

The people of this town are very proud of their community and their place in the technology sector of industry. The blend of business, sport, culture and residential districts makes it a pleasing place to live and work.
